Individualized Error

In my essays, not a lot of my errors went unfixed. I was able to see what I was doing wrong in peer review, and change my errors in the revision and final product. One way to show an advanced understanding in this class was to be able to fix your mistakes to have a stronger final paper.

In my introduction, throughout the papers, I think I got better and better. I was able to shift away from the they say, the other authors, and say more of what I say, my claims. This was a lot better for the reader because my claim was a lot stronger and clearer. I think the practice of doing multiple papers helped this process.

In my evidence and explanations, my evidence was usually on point but was missing complexity. In the revision process I was able to expand on my ideas and really go into what I wanted to say and what I thought. This was something new to me compared to high school. In high school I would only focus on the They Say and not what I thought as much.

Reorganizing was something I did less and less of throughout the semester. In the first paper, a lot of reorganization was needed. In my first draft I really didn’t know what I was doing. It wasn’t until after talking in class was I able to understand how I wanted my final draft to be, so I would reorganize. In paper 2, I was able to have a more solid first draft. This would lead to little reorganization between the first and second draft.

As a writer, run on sentences was never something I struggled with. I use commas a lot, and I have always used them correctly. In this course, that wasn’t something I worked on, it was already there.

Proofreading is something I do okay at times. I think that the first draft was the best way for me to see how some sentences are worded awkwardly and I would build off of that. In paper 2 I think I was able to proofread my paper to the best of my ability and really produce a well rounded paper.
